Scott Chandler tore his ACL in week 16 and may or may not be ready to start week one next season. Injury or no injury, the Bills have struggled to get big plays from the TE position for many years. What makes it even more frustrating is the amount games I have seen the Bills get blown away in, because they had no answer for the playmaking TE on the other team. Gronk, Hernendez, Vernon Davis, Owen Daniels, kill us every time. Even players like Dustin Keller and Anthony Fasano have carried their teams en route to a win over buffalo.
I like Lee Smith as a run blocker in goalline situations, but settling on him as the #2 TE is a typical Bills move that I would rather not repeat. And I dont believe Dorin Dickerson has much chance of being retained with Chan gone.
I would like to see the Bills add a quality TE to pair with Chandler. The list of potential free agents has a few names that could fill in while Chandler recovers from surgery and create an impressive 1-2 combo at TE.
Dustin Keller, Fred Davis, Delaine Walker, Martellus Bennett, Ben Watson, Jared Cook.
Im curious who Bills nation would prefer from that List, plus a few suggestions for TEs to draft.
