I understand that a great deal of the talk here is on the QB, Bowe & the Draft, but what about Dannell Ellerbe from the Ravens? He is an unrestricted FA and would be a HUGE upgrade for our LB core. I'm curious why no one else has brought him up to this point but everyone is so quick to point out how down we are on our LB's.

As for some other random notes:

Our FA: Levitre and Byrd absolutely need to be resigned, although I realize that with Byrd that will probably mean using the franchise tag. Merriman & Moore I feel should also be resigned especially with the new DC coming in. Merriman could become fairly valuable to a flexible scheme like this one. Kelsay needs a good old restructuring to his deal or just cut him and watch him go to the Patriots to become an All-Pro :) . McKelvin is a head scratcher for sure I firmly believe that we are the only team that would be in a position to offer him a potential starting job. The question becomes will someone just throw gobs of cash at him to be a returner.

NFL FA: As stated I believe Ellerbe should be at the top of this list followed closely by Bowe. As for a QB I'm not nearlyas high on Smith as eeveryone else seems to be. I would prefer Matt Moore personally as I've often been impressed by his arm.
