Ryan Nassib

So, we've got our head coach. With this hire, I think there is a good argument to make that Ryan Nassib just shot up the Bills draft board. I started doing some of my annual Bills QB draft scouting on Youtube today.

This is the first time I've taken a serious look at Nassib.

I have little football background other than being a third string safety on a middle school team that only had two strings and watching the NFL and some college regularly for the last 25 year.

Things I like about what I saw - he looks like a tough kid. He doesn't have great speed but definitely looks confident and solid when he runs. He seems to have confidence in the pocket, though not necessarily awareness - maybe he senses rushes coming and gets the ball out, but not enough awareness (or physical ability) to be elusive. He seems to have a nice throw - nice spiral with accuracy and velocity.

The first question that popped into my head, though, is his wind up. I'd like to hear from some fellow Rumblers who have a more refined eye and who can tell me if I am seeing a little too much wind-up. Not as bad as Tebow, but he does seem to have a circular windup that might prove a vulnerability at the pro level - ball could get stripped, throws telegraphed, etc.

That's my first question mark on the guy. I'd be interested to hear some more analysis on the guy. People have posted about Nassib here and there, but just thought a dedicated post to consolidate analysis would be helpful now that the next big events for the franchise will be the draft.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
