IF Thad goes out there this week, and maybe after next week too, and really stinks it up, who would the Bills possibly turn to? Well there is one player outside of the organization that would make perfect sense, at least from a Football stand point. Tim Tebow.
Hold on! Put down your buckets of tar and bags of feathers and at least hear me out please. While I am not excited about that possibility (and I doubt this would happen) after really thinking about it, it does make a good deal of sense and it would actually be a decent match for both parties. Here's why I think so at least....
1.) Tebow runs the Read Option. As we have seen through the early part of the season, the read option makes up a good chunk of the Bills plays each game. Tebow has a lot of experience with it, and runs it very well, better than EJ I will dare say because he is not afraid to run.
2.) Bills are run first. Just like when Tebow was succeeding in Denver, the Bills have a run-first style of offense that Tebow can contribute to immediately. He is probably the only QB that does not need to slide when running because he can punish and run over would-be tacklers. This also means Tebow does not need to throw the ball all over the place, add in the up tempo with a grinding run game and we might actually tire out Defenses.
3.) Throw short offense. While we all know Tebow is a pretty bad passer in terms of accuracy, the fact that most of the throws he would be asked to make, would be short ones, like EJ has been making, this would cover up that fact. When throwing deep, like he did a lot in Denver, he actually has a pretty decent accuracy rate for throws over 20 yards.
4.) Defense is improving. The Bills defense is getting better, and I feel that if the offense can sustain a few more, longer drives, that the numbers put up against it would be much better, our currency offense is going three and out way to much. Getting back some key players in the secondary will also help, and could be the defense that can win games like the did for Tebow in Denver.
I know, this is all ridiculous and probably never going to happen and I am sure you all hate me to hell and back for mentioning Tebow's name. I do not like it very much either, but unfortunately, bringing Tebow to the team IF Thad stinks it up bad, or gets hurt, makes a good amount of football sense.
