Bills vs. Dolphins, NFL Week 7: second half open thread

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

After taking an early 14-0 lead, the Buffalo Bills watched the Miami Dolphins go on a 14-3 run of their own to make the score 17-14 at halftime.

The Buffalo Bills opened up an early 14-0 lead on the Miami Dolphins, but a horrible two-minute sequence to close the first half allowed Miami back into a contest that stands at 17-14 in favor of Buffalo at halftime.

Nickell Robey intercepted a Ryan Tannehill pass on the Dolphins' first drive of the game and returned it for a touchdown for an early 7-0 lead. Later in the quarter, after a Miami penalty negated a huge punt and set the Bills up in Dolphins territory, Fred Jackson scored on a short run to extend the Bills' lead to 14-0.

From there, the Dolphins have gone on a 14-3 run. Tannehill threw a second interception to Aaron Williams, but also threw touchdown passes to Charles Clay and Brandon Gibson. The latter score was set up by a Bills three-and-out offensively after the two-minute warning, with those three plays taking all of 13 seconds off the clock.

The real story of this game, however, is the running game: the banged up Bills have just 32 yards on the ground with Jackson and C.J. Spiller ailing, while the Dolphins (averaging less than 70 rushing yards per game entering today) have rolled up 80 rushing yards at 5.7 yards per clip. If the Bills can't flip that area of the game back in their favor, Miami will run away with this game.

Here's your second half open thread. Go Bills!
