Let me preface this by saying that I gave HCDM the "Nod" in the most recent approval pole. I'm not sure how this was decided before the season started. I'm speaking about the "Challenge" process. HCDM is 0-4 in "Coaches Challenges" this season. The first one this year(against the Patriots,) I thought was just a new nervous head coach making a mistake. The 2 yesterday left me scratching my head. Today I read on buffalobills.com that HCDM is changing the "Challenge" process. The article states that he(HCDM) does NOT get any help from assistant(s) or coach(s) in the booth watching a live video feed. So, he(HCDM) decides whether or not to challenge based on what he saw with his own two eyes or if the players on the field encourage him to do so(eg. yesterday). I'm baffled! How can a BILLION$ company(give or take $100m), with all the resources and state of the art technology at their disposal, not have a better way of "Challenging" a play? How do we not spend a little $ on someone who knows all the rules, sits it a booth watching a live feed, and can contact HCDM instantaneously when it is time to challenge? Seriously? An ex-referee? Special assistant? I couldn't Billieve what I was reading.
