An undrafted free agent out of the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Charles latched on with the Tennessee Titans this summer, but was unable to crack their 53-man roster. That does not, however, mean that Charles had a poor preseason, as pointed out by the folks at Pro Football Focus:
Bills new signing Stefan Charles played 68 preseason snaps for Titans. 10.8% of run defense snaps saw him make defensive stop— Pro Football Focus (@PFF) October 30, 2013
Charles measured in at 6'4" and 328 pounds during pre-draft workouts, and for such a large man, he also put up respectable workout numbers, running a 5.2-second 40-yard dash and logging a 34-inch vertical jump at his pro day workout. When he gets up to speed in Mike Pettine's defense, he'll serve as the fifth defensive lineman in the rotation, and could ultimately end up with Ross' old role that saw him take a little less than 10 snaps per game.
