I can't help but wonder what Parker and Byrd were thinking when they stonewalled negotiations with the Bills.Byrd wanted to be the highest paid safety in the league. What really bothers me is the big lie they tried to perpetrate on the Bills. We all know that Byrd does have some limitations - short and not the fastest of safeties. However, what were they thinking when both must have known Byrd was damaged goods? Plantar Fasciitis is a life long problem and often can become plantar fasciosis which would mean some degenerative changes. To me this is the worst kind of subterfuge that any agent could possibly try to pull over on a team. This may have been kept from the Bills. I don't know. It is absolutely disgusting if this is true. In any event, how could anybody ask for the kind of money they were asking when the player has a problem that will probably keep him out of some games every year and the worst case scenario, end is career? Where does this leave the Bills when Parker has other clients on the Bills roster? At this point they need to get Byrd out of town. The biggest question is , what would they get for him with every team knowing he has a problem and no contract?
