I know that I should probably start panicking and preparing to compete with Jags' fans for the top pick in the draft according to almost every sports analyst, local sports writer/personality and stubborn pessimistic passionate fans. However, I can't buy into their negativity. Has this current regime ever steered us wrong yet? With their perception of talent, I mean? Nope! Jerry Hughes, Nickell Robey, McKelvin, Manuel, Brown (the past couple weeks), Alonso, Woods, Lawson, on and on the list goes. They have hit on every player so far. As a matter of fact, beyond losing Manuel in that Browns game, the Bills were primed to win the third game of the young season. How many of the fore mentioned sports characters actually predicted this? None!!!
The players and the schemes that highlight their strengths, have been a pleasant surprise. True, they are 2-3 but the system is still new and the Bills were getting better each game.
We should trust Marrone's words when he says that Thad Lewis will be prepared (as a matter of fact I learned from this website's links, that Lewis would get time with Hackett in the booth and learn how to identify different defensive looks compared to what the offense was attempting). When other coaches make drastic changes people trust them. Why not Marrone? He has shown that he is different from his recent predecessors. When Powell clearly showed that he did not have it, they shipped him out. Haven't seen a coach do that from Buffalo in a long while. Reopening the LG competition is another indicator.
I don't know, in the past I always worried when we lost a player to injury. That is indicative of a losing mentality. But, I feel different about this regime. I actually trust Marrone's coachspeak and Whaley's eye for talent and potential.
Have faith Bills' fans, the sky is not falling.
