I know E.J. just came back from a knee injury but even when he was healthy he wasn't anywhere near consistent. Is it fair to proclaim he just wasn't ready to start in the NFL? I'm not ready to give up on him yet but it's clear he wasn't ready before his injury and he clearly wasn't ready to start this week. He should have at least been given another week of practice to get sharp after the lay off. In my mind, there is no doubt they rushed him into a position that he wasn't ready to handle which is exactly what the pre-draft analysis was of him. The problem has been there is no alternative. It reminds me of the "suffering" the Sabres are putting us through.
