Thad could have played in my opinion. Here's my break down on how the organization anticipates the week 10 return of EJ Manuel.
If Tuel loses, you bring EJ back without a doubt.
If Tuel wins, you still bring EJ back.
If Thad plays and loses you bring EJ back.
If Thad wins, you have a very interesting decision to make.
Lets say Thad wins who also has kept us in every game. The Bills go to 4-5 and its not really a rush to bring back EJ. Thad also starts against Pitt on the road and pulls off 2 wins in a row. Now he has 3-2 record (better record than EJ)….the offense is in sync, the defense is playing great. 'THEN WHAT DO YOU DO?' 'EJ MUST PLAY, RIGHT?' 'IT HAS TO BE EJ.' 'WE DRAFTED EJ IN THE 1ST RND......But wait, WERE WINNING! If it aint broke then don’t fix it.
My personal conspiracy theory is that Buffalo didn’t want to be faced with that decision so they again threw Tuel in the fire when a bruised rib kept Thad out? COME ON MAN! Ben Tate has 4 broken ribs and played against the most physical RUN defense out there last night. It was a win-win to get EJ back into the lineup. There are a string of games coming up that the BILLS FO needs their ‘franchise guy’ to win to validate his 1st round pickup. Tuel starting seemed like a decision that can only result in a simple head knod to bring back the stud EJ. Only prob is, he'll have to win 7 straight to even be considered for a WILD CARD. Any takers or am I completely nuts at this point??
