It's a sad day for Bills fans. That time of year where we officially write off our hopes of making the playoffs and turn our attention to draft talk and next year. Of course, expecting playoffs was probably a little silly to begin with but I digress. I want to talk about my title a little bit. Ashamed it says. Sadly, it has little to do with the Bills or how they played today. No, I'm ashamed to be a fan because of fellow fans.
If you're wondering where this is coming from, I ask you to simply look at the comment sections here on BR. We're one of the best sports blogs in existence and in my humble opinion the best damn group of fans in existence. I'm not going to bother calling individuals out because that's petty and a waste of mine and your time. No, I'm calling out everyone. Reading the post game thread comments was awful. We're all mostly adults here, yet I see a lot of people acting like spoiled children fighting over nonsense. Then if the rebuttal isn't up to snuff people resort to insults. We got people calling each other morons, bashing each other. We all root for the same team yet we're at each other's throats with a viciousness seen in two alpha males fighting over a kill. That's unacceptable, We might as well all be Jets fans if we want to act that way. We're better than this.
Now to the few people who were dumb enough to post comments hoping Ralph Wilson dies. Really? That's the kind of comment a special variety of scumbag makes. Without him you don't have this team in the first place. Show a little respect. Not to mention the fact that wishing death on a person is an extremely low thing to do. Don't be that person. I understand people wanting to vent. I get it. But sometimes the venting turns into aggression which in turn people use against their fellow fans. That's not what we should be doing. Instead, lean on your fellow fan for support to get through another tough loss. Losses happen and we've seen our fair share of them. It's not the end of the world trust me. There are plenty worse things that could happen in life than a Bills loss. One other point I'd like to make because I know someone will say it: You could just avoid the comment section if you don't like it. That's the wrong mindset to have people. I WANT to be able to come on here and talk Bills with fellow fans without being chased off by people who think I'm a moron because my opinion is different than theirs. We want Rumblings to be welcoming to people, not look worse than Mos Eisley on Jabba's henchman eat free Fridays. So I challenge everyone to be more civil towards your fellow fans. Remember, we're all on the same team here. Go Bills!!!
