I don’t think I am overreacting. With so many close games nowadays you need players who will make plays at the critical times of the game. His emotional confidence is already delicate and we know he has a history of screwing up at the worst times. I would say give Stevie and a second round pick to Arizona for Larry Fitzgerald. For those of you saying that’s too much, that’s what it is going to take. Stevie is an average starter at best, not a #1. Give Larry a 5 yr/$50M contract. That’s what the good ones make. We’re already paying Stevie over $7M anyway.
What about Chandler – didn’t he fumble too? Sure, but he’s gone after this season anyway. He is an average catcher and a bad blocker. The Dougs should clean house of most of the players that have been around for at least five years. There is a losing mentality of too many players on this team. That is not to say that they don’t put forth the effort (Fred Jackson/Kyle Williams certainly do), but when you lose that much you will inevitably get that "here we go again" thought when stuff happens, and with that mindset you will never make the plays needed to win.
