Before we all give up on playoff hopes, it's a very realistic possibility that 8 and 8 will hold the final playoff spot, with 9 teams still able to reach that mark, our chances are good if and only if we can win out and make it. The Browns and Raiders along with ourselves need a loss to hit 9 and seal the deal. Let's say Browns don't win in foxboro this week and Raiders next week when KC visits. The Jets, Steelers, Titans, and Chargers need 2 losses. I know what your thinking, too many teams but schedules show possibilities. Jets would eliminate Oakland if they win this week, next week @CAROLINA with a last week road trip to Miami, not hard to see 7-9 here. Steelers play Miami this week and I'm cheering for Miami because I don't know if Rodgers will be back before week 16, so need Pitts to lose this week and next week both at home but Cinci plays them well. If they beat Miami, Rodgers still may be back in time. 7-9 realistic. Chargers are at Denver next week and have KC last week of season. 7-9 realistic. Titans are at Denver this week, which means we need Arizona(yikes) to beat them following week, because at Jax and home for Houston last two weeks, shouldn't be tough. 8-8 is a huge possibility here and I'm not sure of tiebreaker, but 7-9 is possible. That leaves the Ravens and Miami, and we only need to tie these teams as we would own the tiebreaker, so we only need 2 losses for each. If we win out that would include a home victory over Miami, really we need just 1 loss for them. Next week Miami hosts New England so there's 8-8. The Ravens last 3 games at the Lions, host New England, and at Cincinnati, not too hard to see 2 losses in there. Looking at our schedule, that last week at foxboro sticks out. But there's a real possibility if the Bills have won these next three that we can win that game. Mainly because Tom Brady has been known to sit the final week, if there's nothing to play for. I know its a lot to go our way, but I don't think unrealistic. At least one or two upsets would have to happen. Here's to dreaming.
