I was watching film of Ryan Nassib vs. Rutgers when a player really caught my eye. Khaseem Greene is a weakside linebacker for the Scarlet Knights, and is an absolute beast.
Against Syracuse, he forced 3 fumbles, intercepted a pass, and recorded a sack, while making a big impact on special teams as well. I decided to watch several of his games and have come to really like him a lot.
He's played 50 games with Rutgers, and has made 386 tackles, 30.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks, 13 FF, and picked off 6 passes. He really fits the new-age outside linebacker that Buddy Nix has been describing. He's a converted safety, and he's really a defensive back playing in a linebacker's body. He can run and cover as well as any 'backer in the 2013 draft class, and has the ability to get after the QB when he's asked to.
He's best in coverage, and has an exceptional blend of size, speed, and athleticism that will allow him to cover tight ends, something the Bills really have struggled with. Covering tight ends is HUGE, especially in our division with Gronk, Hernandez, and Fasano.
The guy always looks to strip the ball, which is a plus skill at the next level.
While he has a lot of "plus" abilities, like all collegiate players, he can be a bit inconsistent at times. Against the run he struggles a bit, not shooting the open gaps to get in the backfield. He's instinctive vs. the pass, but against the run, I found him to sort of wait for the running back to get into his zone to make a play, rather than being aggressive and attacking the ball carrier.
I saw him play pretty high at times, which might get him thrown around by blockers when they get to the second level.
I think this guy is really intriguing for the Bills in the second round. Here are some clips of him to check out! Let me know what you guys think.
