Buffalo Bills News, 2/17: Roster Turnover Continues To Stir Reactions

Kevin Hoffman-US PRESSWIRE

The roster turnover from this week is still generating plenty of opinions - and the draft is always good for that, too. Check out today's Bills links for more on both.

My ode to Terrence McGee | Buffalo Wins

"McGee was a nice player for the Bills and he played in so many meaningless games. He may have been the most dynamic and talented player of those terrible 2000s teams who had staying power. Yet, he just was irrelevant because he played in obscurity."

Joe's ode to McGee is better than his ode to Donald Jones from a week ago, and not just because it's positive. McGee has a strong connection to a lot of good Bills moments over a lot of bad Bills seasons. Most fans realized that when he was released, and while they knew it was time for his departure, they were also down about the turning of that page.

For Kicks: Comparing, contrasting AFC East kickers - AFC East Daily

"Who better to start with than Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell? He made 88 percent of his attempts last season, going 21-of-24 without missing from 30 yards in. Short story shorter, Lindell is a well-above average field goal kicker."

It's easier to make a higher percentage of kicks when you're not kicking long field goals. His lowest-in-the-league touchback percentage is troubling. The Bills need to start looking at replacing another veteran in the next year. I hope they bring in some competition for him in camp.

Analyst warns Bills not to reach for QB - The Buffalo News
McShay: "Listen, I like Ryan Nassib a lot. I think he has a chance to develop into a great backup and there’s an outside chance he can become a solid starter. But to use the eighth overall pick on Ryan Nassib, I think, would be a big mistake."
