I will start by saying that I was yet again totally disappointed by today's coverage of the NFL Combine from the NFL Network. Admittedly I set the DVR to record today's installment from the Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, and Running Backs. Today's coverage consisted of over 3.5 hours out of 5 of the prospects running the 40 yard dash. I cannot explain how boring to me it is to see people run a 40 yard dash. The coverage of the small sample of drills that were shown was just awful. For those who didn't see, there were no graphics nor did the announcers state who was throwing or receiving the ball during the drills besides a small sampling of players.
As for the drills, my thoughts for those who care will differ than most of the national sheep media. I can only judge on what they showed on television, which was group 5 and 6 of the QB's. Geno Smith, Mike Glennon, Tyler Bray, Tyler Wilson, and Ryan Nassib were amongst these groups. There was not a QB in my opinion is that distinguished themselves from another. Geno Smith seemed to lack accuracy on the long ball. Nassib had more arm strength than I thought, there was something missing with Glennon (maybe he just looks the part of a tall, lengthy dork), Landry Jones was inconsistent as his MO, Tyler Bray looked better than I thought he was, and to me Tyler Wilson hurt his stock by doing nothing outstanding or even above average.
Honestly there was only one receiver that stood out to me. Sadly I was with my best friend who is a Patriot's fan, he stood out to him as well...Rodney Smith from Florida State. 6'4, 4.51 40 and is a hands catcher.
Running Backs were also in this episode but they only showed their 40's.
