I've seen an awful lot of you guys making a huge deal that we did not make any moves in day one. Please take a chill pill.
Fitz was released. That is a good step forward. We bit the bullet and now we are free of his big contract. Well kinda. But here is where my point comes into play. We decided to push the 7 million cap hit into next year. That means the bills are definitely planning to spend some cash.
I mean look at these day one contracts. Absolutely ridiculous. Miami spent almost 25 million towards this year's cap on two overrated linebackers and a good, yet not elite, wideout. Thats insane. I am actually happy we did not get into any of these crazy bidding wars on day one.
Also, don't get caught up in the nfl free agency tracker which shows "what teams are interested" in free agents. I remember they displayed about 5 teams that were front-runners for mario last year before the bills scooped him up.
And just because some big name free agents are off the board doesn't mean there aren't any left! There is still dashon goldson, sean smith, dustin keller, keenan lewis, fred davis, laron landry, kenny phillips, dominique rodgers-cromartie, james harrison, connor barwin, and rey maualuga along with many others!
So for god sake's please relax my fellow rumblers. I know its frustrating when you see other teams making moves and you see the bills doing squat. However market value has been set for some high profile guys and i see the bills pouncing on "second-tier" free agents in the upcoming days. Patience is a virtue, have faith, Go Bills!
