I've been sitting and watching fans complain and whine about not signing the "big name free agents" all week, wondering what exactly is so special about these guys that's worth handing over $7 million per year in contracts.
For fun, I looked up the stats (I know they don't tell the whole story) of some of the well-known free agents available on the market, and compared them to our current players.
Player A: 112 Tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles
Player B: 96 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble
Player A: 1,123 snaps...134 Tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble
Player B: 521 snaps...80 tackles, 2 sacks
Player A: 1,137 snaps...44 tackles, 3 sacks
Player B: 398 snaps, 39 tackles, 2 sacks
Player A: 605 snaps...66 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 4 interceptions
Player B: 1,245 snaps...69 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 3 interceptions
Want to know the players?
1. A- Nick Barnett..B- Dannell Ellerbe
2. A- Karlos Dansby B- Kelvin Sheppard
3. A- Connor Barwin...B- Manny Lawson
4. A- Bryan Scott..B- Dashon Goldson
Stats don't always tell the whole story, but just looking at the production per snap, it's interesting to see.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
