I get it. I really do. If you ask me whether or not Buddy Nix should still be the GM of the Bills, my answer would be an emphatic no! I also have very plausible, well thought out reasons for it. So do those who disagree with me (even if I think they are crazy).
What I don't get, however, is what going to Geno Smith's pro-day has to do with Troup. Or, or how signing Lawson was a reason to rant about the Bills. I would even say that Nix has handled free agency quite well the last 2 years. And, I think we will see more solid, decent players in future days.
So, Bills fans.....let's all try to do something. Let's stay on the topic at hand. Other examples: When people point out how bad the defense was last year, there is no need to say it doesn't matter b/c their QB is awful. Or, when people point out bad QB play, there is no need to point out that it doesn't matter b/c the defense is awful.
I even understand not giving the franchise the benefit of the doubt b/c they've been awful. I for one, do not assume that just b/c they supposedly have a "plan" that it means it is a good one or they know what they are doing. However, I still evaluate moves on whether I like them or not, not based on whether I like the person making the move.
As much as I am uncomfortable with Buddy Nix making these decisions, there is little point in ridiculing what he does now unless it is directly relevant or unless I'm trying to hijack a comment thread. So, Buddy: I hereby promise that I will not criticize you for signing a WR b/c there is no one there to throw the football. I also promise that I will not criticize a defensive signing b/c they have no left guard or because they don't have a QB yet. I promise to look at each of your moves on their merits and to only bring up the past when it is directly relevant. I promise to criticize your draft picks only if I don't like the pick, not just because I don't want you to be the GM anymore.
