My 2 Cents -- Bills 2013 Mock

I frequent BR many, many more times than my employer would like but I just can't stop. I've been a die hard fan my entire life and love interacting and reading what others similar to me have to say about the state of our team. I've been watching/commenting on everyone elses mock since they started coming out (mid October..like usual) and recently decided to give my own a shot. I'm only going to do 4 rounds simply because it gets murky to me with prospects and projected round after that, who will fall, who will rise etc. For what it's worth, I think trading down is something we seriously need to look into but the chances of that are seemingly miniscule so here goes nothing.. Round 1 -- Ezekial Ansah, BYU I think Ansah has the potential to go along with the physical measurables to be the playmaker the Bills have lacked for, well, a really long time. He reminds me (and so many others) of JPP and who wouldn't want that guy on their squad? Oh, and he also fills a pretty large need with his pass rushing abilities. Round 2 -- Tyler Wilson, Arkansas Now, from what I've read around BR, not too many people are high on Wilson, mostly because of his small hands. Other than that, he seems to be the prospect most analysts flip flop on the most. I've seen scouting reports saying he can make all the NFL throws with accuracy and I've also seen ones that say he's got a noodle arm and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Power of opinion I guess. However, I'm not going strictly on what others have seen. I will admit I haven't seen reels and reels of game tape on any one of these guys but I caught as many games as I could this year on the potential picks plus followed their combine performances/senior bowl/YouTube clips etc. Wilson, to me, definitely has a strong enough arm to make the throws with pretty good accuracy. I see him as a gun slinger type who can get himself into trouble at times but then again, so was Brett Favre. He's underrated on the run and is pretty athletic in the pocket. One thing I love about him is that people rave about his leadership abilities, something we haven't had here in a while as well. Some guys just have "it" and I see ""it" in Wilson. Round 3 -- Da'Rick Rogers/Aaron Mellette/Ryan Swope As you can see, I'd like a WR here. While I can't seem to figure out which one, I have reasons why I'd be happy with any of these three. I'm intrigued by Rogers' athletic ability and potential. While I see character issues, I think he can be the prototypical deep threat we've been lacking for some time. Aaron Mellette I really like because of his size. Looks a little raw, but given some time paired with his physical stature, I think he has potential to be a good "go up and get it" guy on the outside (please don't be another JJ Hardy). Swope I've seen compared to Jordy Nelson and that guy has been wildly productive in GB. He's faster than people think and has great hands. Tough kid with decent size (6') who at the very least an be a reliable pass catcher. We desperately need weapons other than Stevie so adding some potential here, if not sooner, is huge. Round 4 -- Jon Bostic I'll admit I really just wanted a LB with this pick so it took some research based on where people would likely fall or where they were projected to go in the first place. Bostic seems realistic in the 4th round and also seems like a guy with some serious upside. He's a hammer as an inside linebacker and seems to be very instinctive. His upside is in stuffing the run and if I do recall, we weren't very good at that last year. I see Bostic as a future replacement for Shep and someone that can be very productive as an ILB. That's all I have. These are my suggested draft picks based on personnel but I'm really interested in filling these 4 positions. I like the talent we've retained and the dead weight we've cut. Drafting smart and developing talent seems to be the route we're taking and here's to hoping our guys pan out sometime soon. Have at it, folks.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
