A fifth-year senior, Thomas only ended up playing three years at Fresno State thanks to a redshirt season and a 2011 campaign that was cut short by a very bad leg injury. Thomas returned to the lineup with a vengeance as a senior, recording 84 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, four sacks, four forced fumbles, 13 defended passes, eight interceptions and three touchdowns in 2012. (Yeah - he did it all, really.)
Considered by most to be a day two prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft, the 6'1", 208-pound Thomas put up a 4.65-second 40-yard dash (which he improved to a 4.59 at his pro day) and a 35-inch vertical jump at the Combine.
When the visit is official, he'll be at least the fifth safety to visit Orchard Park, following names like Kenny Vaccaro, Cooper Taylor, Jonathan Meeks and Malcolm Bronson. Thomas will almost certainly be drafted much earlier than all of those prospects save Vaccaro, who is a mortal lock for the first round.
