I have been wondering for some time about the possibility of putting together some sort of draft competition amongst friends and co-workers. I pitched the idea today and the consensus was that no one knew enough about the draft to make it happen, so naturally I am floating the idea to you fine folks.
The rules for the competition would be quite simple: Each interested person would be allowed one entry in which they would compile their picks for each draft slot. Each slot would be allowed 2 picks. It is important to note that picks would be by draft position, NOT BY TEAM. It is impossible to forecast trades, so if you thought the Browns
would select Milliner but that it was also possible that the Dolphins
would trade up for Johnson, your 6th slot would be 1. Milliner 2. Johnson. I would award points per correct pick, with your first slot getting 5 points and your second slot getting 3.
At the end of day one, the points would be tallied and the winner would be announced (presumably over the weekend). The winner would receive...nothing.
Please let me know in the comments section if there is interest and also if you have any thoughts as to how the idea could be improved upon. If there is enough interest I will throw up a formal post next week with the rules for the competition and for the submission of entries.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
