OK, I know many of my fellow rumblers don't consider the idea of Geno Smith dropping to us at #8 an extremely likely possibility. I'm by no means saying it is; however, the possibility of it happening presents an intriguing situation. As you all know, over the course of the last couple weeks/months, the number of QB-needy teams picking before us has steadily dwindled. With the re-locating of the likes of Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, and Matt Flynn, we are now in a more adventitious situation than we were back in February. I have seen numerous mock drafts in which we take Smith at #8, but none recently in which he is available but we pass on him. I, however, think this could conceivably happen.
I believe that the idea of us having our pick of the litter in regards to not only quarterback but also wide receiver is not out of the realm of possibility. Let's assume for the sake of this argument that we are only considering picking one of those two positions in the 1st round. Would you take Geno Smith if he was there at #8? Would you prefer Nassib? Barkley? What about Patterson or Tavon Austin? Someone else? Take the poll and comment on why you selected who you did.
