I recognize this is highly unlikely because I don't think Buddy would make two trades, but I tried to be realistic on the trade value chart (I used Ron's as a guide), the trading partners, and the players that might be available where we'd pick.
Starting off, I have us trading the #8 pick to St Louis for #22, 46 and 80. St Louis could very easily want to move ahead of the Jets for Austin. At pick 22 I have us taking Cordarelle Patterson.
I then have us trading picks #46 along with our 4th and 5th rounders to the Patriots for their #29 selection. I think the Pats would love to trade back and grab some extra picks this year. At pick #29 we select our QB, either Nassib or Barkley. I really don't have a major preference for either of them. But it allows us to get back in front of the teams at the top of the 2nd round.
At pick 41 there are lots of ways to go. If Ertz is still there, I'd take him. Assuming he's not, then I think it is BPA from CB, LB and safety. My preference would be Jamie Collins or Darius Slay.
At pick 71 is where I think the TE value is. I'd grab either McDonald or Kelce with that pick.
At pick 80, assuming we went with Collins at 41, I'd take best safety on the board. I think Philip Thomas or Shamarko Thomas could both be on the board. If we took a safety earlier, I'd strongly consider grabbing another WR with this pick. Someone like Mellette, Dobson, or Chris Harper would be great.
So in summary, my selections would be:
Nassib or Barkley
Jamie Collins or Slay
McDonald or Kelce
S. or P. Thomas/Mellette/Dobson/Harper
What do you think?
