So glad we posted Manuel at #16...

...Instead of just trading back again and grabbing him at the end of the first or in the second. I don't hate Manuel as a prospect, but I cannot for the life of me understand why the hell the Bills went and drafted him #16 OVERALL when we could have traded back again to get even more picks in the second and/or third rounds. Really, the only way I can even fill remotely good about this pick is if nobody was willing to trade up, but I am pretty sure San Francisco was interested considering they traded up to #18. I would have LOVED to get another second round pick and perhaps a third or a fourth out of it as well, which would have not only allowed us to get the QB we want but also the WR, TE, and LB that the team so desperately needs (if not more).

This is just one of those times I feel that the team has literally no direction anymore. We are taking a PROJECT QB with our first round pick, when the team has so many needs to address. This is exactly why I wanted the team to trade back in the first place and then draft in the late 1st or early 2nd. The team has many needs, and a project QB who may not play for a year or more is not one of them, especially with next year shaping up to be more promising at the position. Were a team willing, we could have traded back in the 1st even further, grabbed our WR of choice (or even Manuel still), and had another pick or two to fill more desperate needs for the roster.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
