With the 105th pick of the 2013 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills pick

David Bass (OLB/DE) Missouri Western State

This guy will be a BEAST at the next level. He is a perfect fit for Pettine's Defense as a rush OLB.He's been on my radar screen since the day I heard him in an interview on Sirius NFL with Pat Kirwin. Kirwin grilled him with questions and this kid is solid in his understanding of the game. I love this kid ! He is one of the smartest college athletes I’ve ever heard in an interview. They drilled him with questions and clearly this kid is a film rat. Super smart and hard working. Now when you look at his accomplishments you will realize that he is also a beast of an athlete.

Here is the CBS Scouting report: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1888780/david-bass

Highlight video: David Bass 1

This is a Senior with lots of production albeit in Div II, he was dominant. He is 6'4" 262lbs with 4.8 speed.

01/18/13 - 2013 SHRINE GAME PRACTICE RISERS: 7. DE David Bass, Missouri Western State (6036, 263 -- East Team)...Bass dominated the Division-II ranks, bringing a productive resume to the NFL with 56 tackles for loss and 39.5 sacks over his career. And playing next to FBS-prospects in St. Pete's, he didn't look out of place with the quickness and hand strength to defeat blocks and find his way to the ballcarrier. Bass has room to refine his pass rush moves to be more effective, but he flashed in practice why he was able to be so productive in college. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

I believe this guy would be a BEAST in Mike Pettine's system at the Rush OLB position. When you watch the highligh video what jumps out at me is his ability to quickly diagnose a play, drop back or get his hands up, tip the ball or create an opportunity.. When he spoke to Kirwin, this part of his game was obvious, he is a student of the game. His production was great, he's a senior and great character on and off the field. I think he'd be a great addition to the Bills locker room!
