Mock Draft Trade Partners

As we approach the draft, we'll see an uptick in mocks. Many of them will feature trades both up and down the board. (How I love trades!) While Nix hasn't shown a willingness to trade down in the first he has demonstrated a willingness to move back into the first (2010) and up in the third (2012). The purpose of this post isn't to advocate trading up or down but rather to serve as a handy reference to those whose mocks feature trades. This isn't a post about getting into position to take particular players. Consider rec'ing it in order to keep it on the front page.

So there it is. Some teams are more likely to trade up; the ones with the + are obvious choices given that they have extra picks. Some teams without extra picks - or even missing one - could trade up if the cost is minor enough. Some teams are more likely to trade down due to missing picks. There are some owners who just can't help themselves like Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder. There are some GMs and coaches, like Reid, who move up and down the board with aplomb. There are some teams, like the Giants, who typically stand pat and make their picks. The above should give you reasonably accurate trade scenarios as you think about mock drafts-your own or those that others put up.

Happy mocking!
