A Happy Fun Positivity Zone for Week 3

The Jets game was pretty disgusting for both teams. And Buffalo came away with about 5 new injuries. Same old, same old.

Since I'm sure that the next week is going to be filled with vitriol and arguments, let's take some time to appreciate players who did a good job this week!

Kiko Alonso

Kiko has been a rock solid player in the first three weeks of the season. He added another 8 tackles (3 solo) and an interception to his stats today. After 3 weeks, here is his stat line:

27 tackles, 17 solo, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack.

Keep it up, Kiko! Here's a game ball for keeping yourself on track as a DROY candidate!

Dan Carpenter

We make fun of him for being older and weak-legged and a former Dolphin, but Dan has been the man during the early season, as our offense struggles to reach the endzone. Carpenter went 4-4 today with a long of 43 yards, and he is now 7-8 with a long of 55 yards. He also has scored 4 PATs. His kickoffs don't always go for touchbacks, but he gets a good combination of distance and hangtime which hasn't led to any major mishaps yet.

Game ball to Dan for being consistent and effective and making a case to stick around despite the big time rookie waiting in the wings.

Manny Lawson

Lawson has quietly been one of the better players on the defense so far this year, and he was all over the ball today, with 14 tackles including 11 solo tackles and 1 TFL.

Manny gets a game ball for playing hard all game long and being a stout run defender in the trenches.

Shawn Powell

Powell got a lot of flak last year and in the preseason for being a bit of a shankasaurus, but he's fixed his game so far. This week was another excellent performance. 7 punts for a 51 yard punting average, including a 66 yard punt. He did have 3 touchbacks, although one of those was very nearly a punt to the one yard line if he had curved it a bit right.

Game ball for Shawn, who has helped us forget about Brian Moorman in the last couple of weeks.

I left out some game balls because I want to hear some positivity from you guys. Who has played well so far, or this week? Let's keep things positive. I don't want complaints about players - we have many other threads where we can talk about that.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of
