Leodis McKelvin injury: game-time decision for Bills vs. Ravens

Rick Stewart

The Bills may not know until late Sunday morning whether or not Leodis McKelvin (hamstring) will be ready to play against the Baltimore Ravens.

In an appearance on WGR 550's The Howard Simon Show on Friday morning, Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone told the host that there's "a chance" that cornerback Leodis McKelvin will be ready to play on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

"I think he's got a chance," Marrone said. "I think it'll be one those things where we go out before the game. He practiced on a limited basis (on Thursday). He went out there and ran around, and I think that'll be a game time decision."

Marrone made the comments prior to his team's Friday practice.

McKelvin, who has been the Bills' No. 1 corner this season with Stephon Gilmore sidelined by wrist surgery, left last week's loss to the New York Jets in the first half with a hamstring injury. He did not practice on Wednesday and was limited Thursday; given that Marrone has already labeled him a game-time decision, it's likely that he'll be listed as questionable on this afternoon's final Week 4 injury report.

With McKelvin out of the practice lineup this week, Aaron Williams has moved from safety to cornerback with the first-team defense, with Da'Norris Searcy and Jim Leonhard taking the safety reps. Justin Rogers and Nickell Robey will also see significant snaps at cornerback regardless of McKelvin's availability, and Brandon Burton may work into the mix as well. What isn't clear is which position Williams will play if McKelvin does suit up, but it's looking like the Bills will cross that bridge if they come to it.
