Pettine leaving to take the gig in Cleveland stinks for us Bills' fans. However, things may not be as doomed for us as we think. I believe that the Bills' organization saw this coming (because word and rumors spread like wild fire in the league, I believe) and have had a plan in place to combat employee turnover. Last week they hired Haley from Tampa to be an assistant. His previously held title was Safeties coach. He will fulfill a similar role in Buffalo. That allows Henderson to be promoted to DC I think. Pettine will undoubtably take a majority if not all of his defensive staff. That leaves key positions open. One of those spots will be filled by recently departed Pats' LB coach, Pepper Johnson. Other slots will be filled with intelligent and creative low level position coaches that have the same mindset as Pettine.
Hear me now, believe me later.
