Marrone has Worked his Magic Again

Wow. That is all I really need to say. Wow. Who in their right mind saw this coming? I know for certain that I didn't. If the organization was going to hire outside the current staff, I would have thought they were going to pick up Schiano [considering that they hired Haley (the ex-Tampa safeties coach to be the defensive assistant) or Phillips (great defensive mind with a chip on his shoulder)]; but Schwartz?! Could not believe it. Close friends of his confided to a couple NFL insiders (Walker - ESPN and Peter King - SI.com) , that Schwartz was burned out and would probably take a year off and collect his guaranteed money from Detroit. However, Marrone, Whaley, and Brandon provided Schwartz with a vision of a bright future and environment which to attach his name. Way to go guys. It appeared as if the collected braintrust had a sure-fire, convicted contingency plan in place when they figured out that Pettine would probably gain a lot of attention from HC vacant enterprises (Black Monday). Whisking Pettine away from Rex Ryan was a work of salemanship beauty, but hiring Schwartz within only 36 hours after Pettine was introduced as the Browns' HC; was pure brilliance!! The Bills are beginning to gain respect and traction as a bright, young, attractive organization. A lot of credit has to go to Whaley and Brandon for using their strengths to the teams' advantages (Whaley - recognzing talent and how it fits into a given scheme and Brandon - beginning to change the teams' image); but the majority of the difference goes to Marrone. He seems to have a knack of communicating extremely well to potential candidates. Heck!!; it seems almost anyone! The loss of Pettine may be a sign that things have for certain began turning around (first coordinator from the Bills to get hired on as a head coach in 22 years). No longer are the Bills seen as a league pity party and maybe, just maybe, can be viewed as a bonafide player now. The feeling is changing in the city with the sudden developments and companies moving in and investing in the area. I am hoping that the regions' upswing provides a poignant allegory for how the football team is trending. Go Bills!!!!

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
