Discussion topic for y'all: Are WE the reason Marshawn Lynch is so media shy?
There's been a lot of coverage in the press about Marshawn Lynch's reluctance to speak with the media. Today being Media Day, ESPN and SI both had cover stories about it.
When he was in Buffalo, though, I don't remember him being so quiet. In fact, I thought he was kind of loud, in a fun, endearing way.
Here's my theory: Once Buffalo fans and media started turning against him -- for example, by claiming his off-the-field issues were a distraction and blowing them out of proportion, by spreading rumors about him stealing some off-duty cop's money in a mall, etc. -- he decided that when he got to Seattle, he would extricate himself entirely from the media circus and focus only on the game.
As a side note, I've always felt that it was ridiculous how Buffalo fans/media at the time considered him a distraction and turned against him. Unlike McGahee, Marshawn embraced the Buffalo community (see the hilarious YouTube clips). Some fans have poor judgment .
