I thought I would post what my ideal mock would be for 2014. This assumes the front office doesn't sign or trade for a quality starter for one of their four biggest needs. (TE, OG, OT, and LB) So without further ado here we go.
- Eric Ebron, Tight End, University of North Carolina. This would be my dream pick. I know this draft is loaded with starting quality tight ends and their are some blue chip tackles in the draft. But why not fill a gaping hole with a fast and athletic tight end who can provide a safety blanket for our young qb and provide some serious yards after the catch.
- Cyril Richardson, Guard, Baylor University. This is the obvious pick here our biggest need on the oline is guard after Rinehart and Levitree left our oline has never been the same. This pick would give us a great left side of the oline and drafting someone instead of signing someone would give us more money to give extensions to some of our better players. (Glenn, Spiller, and Dareus)
- Chris Borland, Linebacker, Wisconsin. This pick adds depth and versatility. Borland can play outside linebacker in 4-3 and inside in 3-4 next to Kiko. Our defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz plays mostly 4-3 so it looks like if we do get Borland he'll play on the outside opposite of Lawson or Spikes if we can sign him in free agency.
- Brandon Coleman, Wide Receiver, Rutgers University. This pick would give us another redzone target next to Ebron. Coleman, Ebron, Woods, and Johnson would be a scary redzone package with Spiller or Jackson in the backfield.
