Just some impressions:
Hate on Parker all you want, he ended up getting his client a great deal. That's his job.
Byrd did get a great deal. Ward signed for 5.5M a year. Whitner for 7. Byrd's averages out at 9, a number Peter King thought would be crazy earlier in the week. Plus it's 28M guaranteed. Earl Thomas must be doing cartwheels.
I'm happy for Byrd. That's the way it goes. We will miss him because we need playmakers.
New Orleans is obviously in serious "win now" mode. But while adding a great player to give them a pair of excellent safeties, I don't see this as being a move that puts them over the top in any way. As long as they have Brees they'll be a playoff calibre team, but that's it. All things considered, I don't think this was a great move for them. Sure it helps them, but it's not the final piece of the puzzle.
How much weight do you think NewOrleans gave to the plantar fasciitis? Yeah. Not much. And it's not like they don't have doctors and did a bit of due diligence. So . . . yeah.
