NFL Draft 2014: Eric Ebron will make pre-draft visit to Buffalo

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Ebron, a popular prospect to discuss amongst Bills fans, is the first name that has popped up on the pre-draft visitor circuit this spring.

North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on Wednesday that he has scheduled a pre-draft visit with the Buffalo Bills during the month of April.

Ebron is a 6'4", 250-pound receiving tight end with 4.6-second speed that is widely considered not only the best tight end prospect available in the 2014 NFL Draft, but a virtual lock to be taken within the Top 20 picks. Bills GM Doug Whaley told WGR 550 last week that he had personally taken in Ebron's eight-catch, 199-yard performance against Miami (FL) last season.

This is also an opportune time to point out that keeping track of Bills pre-draft visitors is a worthwhile endeavor, because the Bills have become known for selecting players that they brought in for visits - particularly in the first round. C.J. Spiller, Marcell Dareus, Stephon Gilmore and EJ Manuel were all pre-draft visitors.

Here are the full lists of Bills pre-draft visitors from 2012 and 2013. Including the first-round picks mentioned previously, tackle Cordy Glenn, linebacker Tank Carder, quarterback Jeff Tuel, wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers and safety Jonathan Meeks were all pre-draft visitors in those years. Other previous draft picks since 2010 that swung by One Bills Drive include defensive tackle Torell Troup and linebacker Kelvin Sheppard, as well.

NFL teams are allowed to host a maximum of 30 draft prospects at team facilities each year.
