The 2009 Buffalo Bills were a lovable group of losers. It was Dick Jauron's last gasp, Ryan Fitzpatrick was getting the start (did you know he went to Harvard?), and their leading receiver was a free agent on a one-year contract: Terrell Owens.
Owens signed his contract five years ago, infamously saying he was going from America's Team to North America's Team. It was Owens' clever way of moving from the Dallas Cowboys to the Toronto-bound Buffalo Bills. Owens caught 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns, including a team-record 98-yard touchdown pass - the longest in Buffalo Bills history.
The Bills finished 6-10 and Jauron was fired after nine games and Perry Fewell finished out the year. Owens moved on to the Cincinnati Bengals for one final season. His 829 receiving yards were the lowest of any season in his career in which he started more than 10 games.
But, you know what? Fans really dug him. We have proof. And here it is:
Does anyone have a picture of a box of T.O.'s? I'm kinda bummed we haven't seen one of those yet this weekend.
EDIT: Thank goodness @EricRauty had these.
