Food for thought.....
James Hardy - 6'6" 220# - 191 catches, 2740 yds. 36 TDs. I found three combine events that both Evans and Hardy competed (and only three.) Reps - 18, 3-cone drill 6.84 sec. - 20 yd. shuttle 4.20 sec.
Mike Evans - 6'5" 230# - 151 catches, 2499 Yds. 17 TDs. Reps - 12 reps, 3-cone drill 7.08 sec. - 20 yd. shuttle 4.26 sec.
Now, I know there is just tons of other info to consider; tons. I just think Evans bust potential is way higher than Jake Mathews. So much so infact, that I think you'd be crazy to bypass Mathews for Evans. Especially if you consider that ROT is a bigger need than WR at this time.
Mathews is a rare plug and play ROT that excells as both a run blocker and pass blocker. He fits like a glove as a Bills draft pick in nearly everyway. He may be the safest pick in the entire draft.
Lastly, no I don't think he will be there at nine. I am merely discussing a hypothetical question; who is the right pick for the Bills, Mathews or Evans?
