Draft Day - Cash Cow (Film Review & opinion)

I will ask for forgiveness in advance because I've never written a film review before but this film made me want to try because I felt it was important to let my fellow rumblers know. So I will try to do a review of the good and bad points of the film and provide some opinion without giving anything substantial away - hope you appreciate this review.

Last night I went to see Draft Day and I saw the light. I was intrigued by this movie and I was anxious to see how our guy performed. I must admit that the scene with Russ was actually quite good and Russ did a very good job! At one point I was actually thinking that we were destined to be the laughing stocks of the league taking a stupid deal or something. Overall the movie was way too diluted to be enjoyable for me, if guess that what happens in Hollywood. The whole movie is during the final 12hrs before the draft starts and it's hard to imagine that things are that calm. I came away feeling gypped. There's no way that the front office is that ZEN the day of the draft and they made the scouts out to be a bunch of horny idiots. The NFL definitely did way more than just endorse this film as evidenced by the enormous participation by Roger Goodel and his band of misfits as well as the numerous references to very recent NFL transactions or news events.. The way the main event went down was very Disney'esque and unbelievable. Furthermore it made the GM look like an un-prepared fool that just got very lucky. Needless to say, I found the movie to be very disappointing from an authenticity point of view. I would still recommend the film but I would warn people to adjust their expectations for a Disney-type film.

Let me explain why I mentioned that I saw the light. I was driving back from the cinema last night and came to the conclusion that this film was initiated by the NFL. I'm telling you, the amount of NFL logo's and participation from every major NFL commentator in this film is way more than I expected to see. The fact that the film came out almost exactly at the date when the actual draft used to occur and by chance this year the NFL chose to change the draft for May 9th? do you think that this is just great timing? My friends, Roger Goodel found a way to milk the cow even more. I'm sure that the NFL is partnered in this film and they are racking is the cash for the next 3 weeks while we all wait impatiently for the actual draft. What is very clear to this reviewer is that the NFL manipulated the situation in order to maximize profits at our expense.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
