I'll start with a quick note about myself, since I'm a long time reader, but first time Fanpost-er. I'm a Buffalo native that has spent the last 16 or so years of my life away from the area, mostly in Louisiana. I try to keep my finger on the pulse of the team by frequenting this awesome website, as well as reading as much as I can of other sources, but aside from a few interactions with friends from back home on Facebook, I'm not always sure if I'm in on the "talk of the town".
Anyways, to the point of my post, I've seen/heard/read about what I assume to be a minority of the fan base calling for the Bills to part ways with Stevie Johnson (especially if they draft a WR early this year). When I've seen that I basically chalked it up to the "grass is always greener, what have you done for me lately" mentality that some fans have. Then yesterday I saw a blurb on Rotoworld.com, citing Albert Breer. that the Bills would probably move on from Johnson if they draft Mike Evans.
Do people in the NFL, not just fans, really think this would be a good idea? I mean I get that Johnson had a down year and his antics (although relatively minor IMO) may have worn thin with some, but to release a very productive WR, in the prime of his career, with a reasonable salary, leaving TJ Graham as your most experienced WR just doesn't make any sense to me.
Now I don't see this happening, even if they draft a 1st Rd WR, but I don't really understand why this would even be considered. It just wouldn't make any sense to me and I don't see how anyone would think this would make the football team better. Unless I'm mistaken since I'm obviously not in the locker room, I don't think this would be a case of addition by subtraction that the Eagles must have felt with the DJax situation.
Well that's my take/rant, but what say you, Bills fans? Is it the opinion of the majority or just the thoughts of a few?
Thanks for reading!
