FIrstly, I will start with this. I have not watched any college football. That being said. I have now listened to the so called experts talk at lengths about the prospects in this draft for a solid 3 months. I will use their expert analysis along with my own perception of this teams needs and present the following:
RD #1: Before I make the pick, I am going under the thought process that, Sammy Watkins, Khalil Mack, Jadeveon Clowney, Mike Evans, Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews are all gone. Eric Ebron is still available as well as Lewan, Clinton-Dix and others.
THE PICK - CJ Mosley, LB - Alabama.
Rationale - We all know right now the NFL is a copy cat league and as much as we would all like to have a dominant offense, Seattle showed us 2 things last year. Running and defense win close football games and is a very solid recipe for success. You can never have to many great LB's. Mosley is a BOSS and from everything I have heard he is exactly what this team needs.
RD #2: Before I make the pick, I am going on the assumption that because only 1 QB was taken in my top 9, that a slew of QB picks happen before the Bills pick. Leaving Buffalo with a little bit of a conundrum. With 4 QB's going at the beginning of round 2 (Carr, Garappolo, Bridgewater, Bortles) it leaves significant difference makers at 3 positions the Bills seem to value. CB, TE and WR.
THE PICK - Kyle Fuller, CB Virginia Tech
Rationale - BPA. With other needs Buffalo elects for the CB they had a first round grade on. I can justify Fuller being available based on the sheer fact i personally think he is mildy undersized.
RD #3: I cannot and will not speculate on what the rest of the draft will look like but will continue to make my picks.
THE PICK - Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio St.
Rationale - Again BPA, with the looming possibilty of CJ and Fred leaving us, Hyde gives us not only depth but another varying style of running
RD #4 - CJ Fedorkoweitz, TE, Iowa
Rationale - he fits our MO, an Iowa TE. He is also a big bodies reliable pass catching TE. nothign flashy but some nice depth and competition
RD #5: Laurent Duvrey -Tardiff, OT, McGill University
Rationale - A big strong frenchman (I am Canadian). His ceiling, our starting RT. His floor, inside swing G depth
RD #7 - Traded along with next years 7th to get back into the 6th to take a tantilizing project player
