Why having a decade of losing makes us not think straight

So I have decided reading comments through other posts that we as a fan base may have lost touch with reality. Hopefully after this season we get back some prospective.

The fact that their are arguments on why Easley should be kept on the roster over Graham is ridiculous. Use logic and the numbers and personnel should tell you who should be kept. Regardless who might be a better gunner given an opportunity means nothing. The coaching staff is implementing a specific goal line package with Mike Williams, they obviously have a package with Goodwin, but really what is easier to overcome; an open field speedster (btw Watkins is no slouch in speed) or a red zone package with a tall WR who high points a ball. I don't care how comparable they could be in ST but I think it's a better idea to keep a tall WR who high points a ball in the red zone in case of injury to Williams compared to a burner in open field. There are ways to manipulate the whole field. Not so much in the red zone.

Also I believe there may be some actuality that Fred Jackson gets released. I think it would crush our fan base because nobody wants someone who has shown what the desire of a Bill should be not be there when we have the possibility of succession. It's a number game though. If Dixon can show he can be a great pass protecter while being a steady back behind CJ I feel it might happen. Our OL might require more numbers to where our future is better chanced on letting an older commodity go.

I don't think anyone wants to see any of the OL we drafted to be cut, but Richardson is a good fit to be cut or PS hopefully. He has had plenty of opportunity to show something but isn't getting it. I know we all want to say a bum off the street is better than Legursky or Pears but obviously training camp isn't showing that.

Last but not least we have EJ Manuel. Everybody who likes him tries to find stats to justify what he can be but those same stats can show he could be bust potential and the nay Sayers can explain why. EJ is our QB for the immediate future and after last season there is nothing in my gut telling me he can't be our starting QB for years. For the first time in years I wasn't feeling "ok when is the interception coming to put us in our place". The Carolina game helped but really the Falcons game gave me hope. He was doing everything right and other players failed him. He has everything to possess a winning QB. I think the front office and coaches saw that and decided more consistent players around him can make us something special.

So please, understand our team may not be the team that you want but realize there will be people who are not on our team that you feel deserve it. Losing teams cry over fan favorites, winning teams realize no one is safe. Even the household names know the business side.

Just to be clear, other players I think may not make the cut.

Ron Brooks

Chris Gragg

Jonathan Meeks

Alan Branch

these are the hard cuts that winning teams make. We have enough talent I think we don't need to keep someone on the roster just because of previous success and hope they do the same here.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
