This SUNDAY...SUNDAY....SUNDAY...Preseason Football Begins. Let me start by saying I see one very big problem with this years Buffalo Bills. I am going to call out the Elephant in the room and say that the QB position Scares the SNOT right out of me. E.J. is still "struggling" I hope he picks up his game and is the franchise QB we need, but I am not sold. The Bigger issue is what comes behind him. Thad Lewis, Jeff Tuel, and Dennis Dixon, Not one of them is better than a number 3 in the NFL and two of them might not even be that, but hey they are a hell of a lot better than me right. I would like to see Buffalo make what I would call a Bold move. There are still two guys out there who are currently not under contract and might be "retired", but whom I think Doug and Co. need to make a call too. 1) John Kitna, and 2) Kyle Orton. Can anyone argue that the Bills don't need a veteran back-up with solid starting experience. Someone that can teach E.J. what it means to be an NFL QB from a player level (heck we have 800 coaches for him this year). Someone who can step up if he gets hurt or simply doesn't have it this year. Someone who is not the latest a greatest failed prospect looking for another chance (Matt Leinart, Vince Young, Kevin Kolb, Josh Freeman all come to mind). No someone who was never thought of as the GUY but put together a solid long career as a veteran presence with leadership whom we desperately need at the position. I know it's not sexy but it would make us better IMHO.
