Let's be positive, or at least try

Hello Fellow Rumblers. Yesterday was a tough one. The team looked awful on the surface.

However, if you peel a bit deeper, there might be some light in there, or it might be the sunlight glancing off my bifocals.

So, what did I see besides a unicorn playing leapfrog with troll?

I am not sure of the exact number, but, I bet that the Bills lost more then 100 yards of offense on the dumb penalties they took. That's 100 extra yards, if not more.

Football is a game of emotion, and their sails were clearly winded. I think it was Tasker that said that they had played essentially 3 road games, camp was getting edgy (with fights and chippy play) and that could have led to this, and I think Tasker said that happened once to him and the Bills. So, it does kinda make sense. The Bills aren't the first team to lay a goose egg in this preseason, and they won't be the last. For some reason, the turf was bad. Guys were slipping on both teams, so, that was bothersome for most of the first quarter. The Bills took the ball, meaning the advantage of the first quarter was lost due to the field conditions and the adjustments both teams made.

I thought the OL looked unsure of their assignments. I wonder how much Glenn's return caused some issues? This is good IF they learn from their errors. They have 2 weeks to fix this.

For most of the entire preseason, the first team offense was able to move the ball, until today, so, I am not happy, but, am willing to give them a pass based on all the oddball stuff that happened in the game. Far too many penalties, far too much slipping, falling, etc, far too many OL errors all led to this. I thought the D was pretty solid. This loss was on the O and the errors on both sides of the ball.

Does anyone know what a penalty is anymore? It gets harder and harder. I saw 2 guys hand fighting and nothing, i saw another guy wave at a guy, miss, and get called. I saw yet another guy push off on the defensive player, yet, the defensive player got called. Makes no sense. I don't even know how you can play in that insanity? Here is what kills me: Don't they (all teams) practice with refs now? So why aren't they called the same? Why are they called differently week to week? I am sure every team has to be frustrated. Yet, the Hawks, the team that this was supposedly done for, don't get called that often for it. It's clearly madness.

AND IT'S OKAY B/C IT'S PRESEASON. It's true. They still haven't lost a real game yet. The games don't count, but, they do matter. And they can take away the fact that if they fix those penalties, if they can fix the falling, tripping, turf monster (can we sign him up?), if they can fix the dumb stuff they do they can compete. We saw the offense did have some plays. We saw the 2 TD's EJ led them on after halftime (I know it was against partial 2's), but, that is how this team is built, they must keep moving forward. They can compete if they keep the dumb and simple errors and lack of judgements down.

Go Bills - SUTECK OUT!

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
