The Nix/ Whaley Era....

This mess must be taken as series of mistakes starting with the Buddy Nix signing. There were tons of little mistakes but I want to outline what got us where we are now, today.

First off, I know it is easy writing in hindsight, but most of these mistakes were seen as highly controversial at the time they happened.

Extending Ryan Fitzpatrick. Huge, huge mistake, the guy has a very suspect arm and is simply not that good at finding the right receiver anyway.

Not drafting a QB in very strong QB classes even when your starter is iffy, but the worst part is, we had no back up. You could add the Thigpen signing which was an absolute gaff as it happened.

Letting two good offensive guards go as free agents, one with wildly successful Nick (?) Dellasandro to San Diego.

Signing Kevin Kolb. Another ridiculous mistake even at the time.

Drafting a QB in one of the worst QB drafts ever.

Drafting him in the first round completely changing expectations while also leaving big talent on board.

2013 season ends and you don't address your horrid QB play once again in the offseason.

it sure looks like highly questioned free agent RG Chris Williams is a swing and a miss (he already had back problems). I could see signing him but at starting money? Kraig Urbik wasn't the best guard but he is playing terrible now....

It looks to me that our skilled players have zero confidence in our current offensive line and QBs overall and don't believe they can seriously compete now.....

I personally think EJ Manuel is way better than last season but I thought he was terrible last season. I think he would have been a good round two pick behind a starter with a good offensive line. He doesn't look bad to me, but I am not a receiver who practices with him everyday and I don't have cornerbacks trying to take my head off all the time.....

Just feeling bad and ranting a little bit in Elmira.....

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
