Predictions for the Bills and their QB situation next season

#1.) Terry Pegula will buy the Buffalo Bills, and will clean house from top to bottom after a 5-11 season

To help aid in the house cleaning, giving his penchant for bring back old names/ fan favorites as we have seen in the past with the Sabres (LaFontaine, Nolan).

Terry Pegula will bring back familar names to the organization in Bill Polian to help oversee the Bills search for a new GM. Bill Polian will NOT be the GM himself, but possibly do some consulting for Pegula's group.

Jim Overdorf and obviously Jeffery Littman will no longer be in power

#2.) EJ Manuel will have an up down season of inconsistencies which will leave us to debate on if he deserves a year 3 with a new head coach and staff.

#3.) CJ Spiller will walk after this season (or be tagged and traded for picks), but Marcel Dareus will re-sign keeping the Bills Defense intact

#4.) Frank Reich, entering his first season as offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers will emerge as a head coaching canadiate for the Buffalo Bills next season.

Reich is now a a coaching veteran in the NFL for the last 6 seasons, as he has served on numerous staff's in a variety of different roles: QB coach, Passing Game Coordinator, and WR's coach.

He received praise for the work he did with Phillip Rivers last season and is entering his first full season as Offensive Coordinator this year.

I dont think Reich will get the Head Coaching job, but I do think that he will emerge as at least as a candidate

#5.) The Bills will explore the following as Quarterback options to improve their QB Situation both Short term and Long term. They will sign a veteran retread QB, and draft a young QB in April's draft.

Signing a retread in Sam Bradford:: If the Rams tank, and have a disaster season, I can see them moving on from him and thus, selecting a QB at the top of next season's draft like Marcus Mariota or Jameius Winston. Bradford is an injury prone QB, who makes Kurt Warner look like an Ironman ......as a former #1 pick will come in on a short term low risk, high reward type deal to compete for the starting job.

Other Veteran options include:

Michael Vick.... He's more than willing to accept a backup role at this stage of his career, and can still start when needed...although, given Buffalo's talented WR corp...this may be the worse option. A push for a #1 QB but Vick can still play.

Mark Sanchez: is a viable option as a veteran backup QB with Starting QB experience who can be a good #2.

Carson Palmer is in a contract year, but all bets say he could be back in Arizona next season.

The NFL Draft:

the 2015 Draft class has impressive underclassmen, but the Senior QB's leave a lot to be desired for.

Sean Mannion and Bryce Petty grade out as the best seniors in a weak senior class.

With no #1 pick the Bills are looking at a pick between 30-40, barring a trade up. I still dont think a QB will be out of reach for them though. And a lot can happen between now and April with prospects. The Vikings did nab Teddy Bridgewater with pick 32 (which is in reach for Buffalo) and Bridgewater could be Minnesota's QB of the future..

Brett Hundley from UCLA.:

They could be super aggressive again and trade a 2016 #1 pick to move up into the mid first 15-23 to take a guy like Hundley if he graded out well.

Kevin Hogan, QB from Stanford is another option if he declares who could be a late first-early 2nd option.

The Hot Backup/ Young QB option:

Ryan Mallett QB, Patriots

Mallett will be a UFA after this season, and barring a trade is free to sign anywhere. He very well may be the most intriguing option of this group. He has a Cannon for an arm, but I dont know if I want the Patriots sloppy seconds as talented as he may be. Jimmy Garrappolo

Quote from Pat's Pulput provides insight:

"Mallett has made four regular season pass attempts and hasn't shown the expected growth during the off-seasons. While he should have moved past the off-the-field concerns, his on-the-field issues haven't been addressed. He still lacks consistent touch on short passes. His cannon of an arm can't throw rainbows down the field. He can throw lasers for 150 yards, probably, but he hasn't improved his arm's savviness.

Still, his playing style just hasn't meshed with the Patriots offensive style. Where Tom Brady masters quick throws to allow receivers to continue into the open field, Mallett can't control when the ball reaches his receiver. The ball explodes from his hand and it's just not a match for the offense."

Matt Barkley QB, Eagles:

Has earned Mixed Results this preseason as the Backup QB of the Eagles, he is itching for a chance to show what he can do as the starter.

Kirk Cousins QB, Redskins

Cousins might be the best option of this group of guys, and in all honesty, it may be the best option. Kirk Cousins may be the best QB in the league not starting and some people in Washington believe that Cousins should start over RG3.

If the Redskins trade Cousins, it could turn out to be a blunder.

It will be interesting as well to also see what new Head Coach Jay Gruden can do with RG3 and Cousins..

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
