How the Bills look?

How do the Bills look today? They have switched QBs from the future to fight for the present. EJ Manuel is now riding the pine with Kyle Orton starting. After a night to sleep and drink my morning coffee here are some of my more well thought out observations:

1.) The Bills best QB as of today is Kyle Orton.

2.) They did wrong to EJ: The Bills did not do as much as possible to help EJ, in the first year they brought in a glass jaw vet in Kevin Kolb who got hurt, shocker, they also didn't have a QB Coach and a rookie play caller. This was obviously not the way of bringing a young QB along.

3.) They also did right to EJ: The Bills have gone out of their way to help EJ. They brought in Sammy Watkins the best receiver since the 2011 draft, and I think he is probably better then any draft prospect in 2015. That's the best weapon in 4 years. They drafted a linemen to play RT in the 2nd RD(Albeit as of right now maybe a bust, but they tried) they brought in Mike Williams who can be a star one on one and being open while he is covered. They also brought in a QB coach. Compare this to what happened with Geno Smith and the NY Jets for supporting your young QB.

4.) Draftniks will always bring up their drafts and who they loved in the draft. No assessment of EJ can be complete without the draft gurus coming in and speaking about EJ being drafted as the 16th overall pick and then rehashing the whole draft QB wise. So here goes, EJ: has been bench, Geno Smith: Has butt fumble 2.0 last year, and is a turn-over waiting to happen and if the Jets drop another game in a row the calls for his benching will start becoming louder. Mike Glennon: Was bench for journeymen Josh McCown, now playing for injured McCown but doesn't have the support of the coaching staff. Matt Barkley: 3rd string QB out of USC where Chip Kelly watched him for his complete college career and thinks he is still only a 3rd string QB. Ryan Nassib: He fell to the 4th RD and seems to be rounding into a very nice 2nd string QB. He has shown nothing to say he will be anything but a 2nd string QB. Note, a good preseason is like saying did you watch the Redskins in Preseason with Steve Spurrior? He must of been a hall of fame coach. So, as of right now it looks like the QB class of 2013 maybe one of the worse in recent memory.

5.) The AFC East is as wide open as it has been in years: Looking at the division does anyone look to be by far and away the best team? No, the biggest surprise is New England. Twice this year in two loses to the Dolphins and Chiefs the Patriots were just pushed around. The Jets and Dolphins are't wowing anyone. This move to me is the Bills saying this is the best shot at the division in probably over a decade.

6.) Would I of gone all in on this year if I was the GM or Coach: I think that is one of the biggest complaints about this regime, they mortgaged the future for this year with the Watkins trade. Knowing we have a new owner and I may be gone either way would I of done anything different? Probably not, if I knew that I may never get in this position again to lead a team I would do everything in my power to not go down without a fight. I would do everything in my power to win. Why work for the future when you may not be there to enjoy it. I want them to say differently but I can understand the move.

7.) The QB class for next year doesn't make me jump for joy. The two biggest QB prospects are Winston who I think is too immature to be in the pros yet and his actions show that he has some tremendous maturing to do and Mariota. Mariota comes from the blur offense which inflates a lot of QBs numbers. I am very concern if he can switch to a more pro-style offense. The rest of the QB prospects are more of a 2nd RD talent. So in that regard the Bills unintentionally in my mind dodge a bullet with the Watkins trade if their was no thrilling QB prospects.

Just my thoughts.
