Random Thoughts on the 2006 NFL Draft

I was looking at the Buffalo Bills Roster the last few days, and seeing the type of players and depth we now have as a team. I even saw a little post about how their are 11 former first round draft picks on the squad, what a cool event, then I noticed something that was kind of funny to me, not funny haha, but funny how things work out. If you don't recall and don't want to look it up this was the year we drafted S Donte Whitner 8th overall and DT - John McCargo 26th overall. Here are the random facts that I found kind of funny, interesting however you want to call it 2006 draft featured not 1, not 2, but 3 defensive linemen from North Carolina State being drafted in the first round - #1 overall Pick Mario Williams (now with Buffalo) by the Texans; #22 overall pick Manny Lawson (now with Buffalo) by the 49ers; and yep you guessed it #26 overall pick John McCargo by Buffalo who is no longer in the NFL - yep all 3 are Played for or are Buffalo Bills we just failed to draft the guys we have. Oh and 6 out of the 32 picks in 2006 have spent time on the Buffalo Bills Roster, aside from the 2 we drafted, plus Williams and Lawson, Quarterbacks Vince Young and Matt Leinart have also been employed (even if it was briefly) by the Buffalo Bills

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
