It's Monday, and that means we have a roundup of 2016 NFL Draft notes, mock drafts, and general football links for you. Each week, we'll summarize some of the things worth knowing as draft news continues to stream in.
Last week at Buffalo Rumblings
Here's the last Mock Draft Monday, for those of you who missed it.
We heard a lot of news about pre-draft visitors last week. The players the Bills are interested in:
- Louisville defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins
- Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones
- Louisiana Tech defensive lineman Vernon Butler
- USC linebacker-slash-safety Su'a Cravens
We attempted to read into Buffalo's draft intentions a month out from the event. The information we possess has already changed, thanks to the new list of visitors.
Which players exist in the second tier of talent this year? We broke down the list of most likely first rounders.
Todd McShay published a two-round mock last week, sending Jarran Reed and Sterling Shepard to the Bills.
Mock of the week
Dont_know_where_I_am published a six round mock draft on Reddit this week. Buffalo's first two picks in the draft are Noah Spence and Vernon Butler, which is about as good of a start to the draft as you can ask for. Things get more interesting in the later rounds.
Around the web
Brett Kollman, who writes for Battle Red Blog and goes by Barian_Fostate on Reddit, published a one-round mock draft this week, and his drafts are always good content. He was one of the first ones to put Aaron Donald in the top five when conventional wisdom had him in the second round, and he claimed that Andre Hal (a Vanderbilt defensive back) was a first round talent, and despite Hal being drafted in the seventh round, he's now the starting safety for the Houston Texans. Kollman's pick for Buffalo is something we haven't seen yet.
In Dan Kadar's latest mock, the Bills stick with Sheldon Rankins.
Chris Burke did a mock draft on SI.com, and the Bills took Vernon Butler.
Sal Capaccio put out his first mock, with the Bills selecting Darron Lee.
