James Robert "Bob" Kalsu died in Vietnam, leaving the Buffalo Bills after his rookie season to fulfill his ROTC commitment. His name is placed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. I snapped this photo when I was there in the Summer of 2010.
The other two photos are from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, NY. Kalsu was placed on the Bills Wall of Fame in 2000. While his accomplishments on the field were limited to a rookie of the year honor, his place in Bills history is secure. The Bills also erected this plaque in their old administration building entrance. On the star is a picture of Kalsu in both of his uniforms - one the U.S. military and the other the Bills - along with a statement in memory. Above it are helmets from both of his uniforms, as well, and other tokens from his life and service.
